Why isn't the AI generating anything?

Sometimes the AI will not generate anything when you enter an action. This usually happens when the AI tries to generate a player action that starts with a > token, or an end-of-text token.

If that happens, you can Undo, Retry, or manually edit the text and write your own result.

If it keeps happening, check your settings. If your values are too high, or sometimes even too low, the AI may only generate garbage tokens such as symbols, strange characters, and other containers. Those are automatically removed by post-processing and can result in an empty response.

If you are seeing an error when this happens and none of the above helps, try changing your model. Some models may be down, malfunctioning, or generally behaving strangely.

You can also try disabling scripts in Account Settings → Gameplay. Scripts are fan-made adjustments to Questsmith's infrastructure and sometimes cause generation issues. This turns off all scripts for your account across every scenario, and you can turn them back on later.
