📖Why Can't I Publish My Story?

QuestSmith checks your Story before it can be published to make sure the content matches the audience level and Story Type you selected during creation. You can still play a Scenario that does not pass these checks, but you must resolve the issues before publishing it.

Audience Level Check

When creating a Story, you select an audience level such as Teen, Mature, or Adult. The content of your Story must match the selected audience level.

For example, if you select Teen but create a Story containing content intended for an Adult audience, QuestSmith will detect the mismatch and prevent the Story from being published.

An error message will explain the issue and what needs to be corrected. Update the Story content so that it is appropriate for the selected audience level, then try publishing again.

Story Type Check

Your Story should also remain consistent with the Story Type selected during creation.

For example, if you select Romance from Quick Start but later create content that is primarily Medieval or Horror, QuestSmith may detect that the Story does not match its selected category and prevent publication.

Choose the Story Type that best represents the actual content of your Adventure and keep the Story consistent with that category.

Before publishing, review your Story's audience level and Story Type and make sure they accurately represent the content of your Adventure.

If your Story contains sensitive or explicit content, review and revise it according to Questsmith's publishing requirements rather than trying to bypass the content checks with altered wording.
