Do you support Multiplayer?
Community
Yes, we do! Multiplayer can be accessed a few ways:
Start a Multiplayer Game
To start a new multiplayer game, open the Play menu, select Multiplayer, then Create Game. This opens a Quick Start-style setup with multiple settings to choose from. After choosing your setup, the game screen will load.

Opening the game menu (flame icon) in the top-left corner gives you a new option: Invite Players. Select it to generate an 8-digit join code, then share it with other players.
Remember: anyone who has the code can join, so only share it with people you trust.

After another player joins your game, their avatar and name appear in the game menu under yours. Selecting the three dots next to their name gives options to Kick that player or Block them completely. Only the host (the player who started the multiplayer game) can Kick or Block other players.
- Kick temporarily removes a player, but they can rejoin.
- Block means that player cannot rejoin.
There is currently no fixed player limit for a multiplayer game. The “(1/4)” next to “Invite Players” is only a suggestion. Adventures can become chaotic with many overlapping actions, but that can also be part of the fun. For now, multiplayer remains unlimited and we welcome feedback.

Everyone's avatar also appears above the command buttons on the game screen. When players take a turn, three dots appear on their avatar while they are typing.

The host's AI model settings apply to all players in the multiplayer game. If the host has a premium membership, all players benefit from those premium settings. We know this was unclear before, so we added explicit wording in game-screen popups to make this behavior clear.

Join a Multiplayer Game
To join someone else's multiplayer game, get the 8-digit code from them, then open the Play menu, select Multiplayer, enter or paste the code, and choose Join Game. You will enter the game screen immediately and can start playing.
To leave someone else's multiplayer game, open the game menu and select the three dots next to your name. You will see Edit Character Name or Leave. Leaving is different from using Exit Game at the bottom of the game menu:
- Leave removes you from that multiplayer game. You must rejoin with the code to play it again.
- Exit Game keeps you in the multiplayer game and only returns you to the home screen. You can use Continue from the content card to keep playing.

Once you have started or joined a multiplayer game, those content cards show Multi instead of Private or Public.
FAQs
Can we use premium features in Multiplayer?
Yes. Only the host needs an active premium subscription for everyone to enjoy membership benefits during a multiplayer game. If you want all players to use a premium AI model, the subscribed player should host the Adventure.
Where can I find other people to play Multiplayer with?
On Discord, in the #multiplayer channel. You can chat with other players and find people who want to join a multiplayer game.
Reminder: anyone who sees your short code can join that Adventure, so share it carefully.
Can we play Questsmith in NSFW mode in Multiplayer?
Yes. Make sure all participants are 18+ and everyone is comfortable with NSFW content.
Because multiplayer uses the host's AI model settings, the host also controls AI safety settings. The host must set safety to Mature for everyone to play an NSFW game.
Why use Third Person in Multiplayer?
Third Person is mainly recommended for multiplayer because multiple characters submit Do and Say inputs at the same time. When this setting is enabled, everyone in the Adventure is prompted to enter a character name, and that name is used for their actions to keep turns clear.
